Production Process

From design to manufacturing to inventory control and delivery, SSL has invested in state-of-the-art technology. These measures were taken not to replace the trained eye and the experienced hand of the SSL Team, but to maximise productivity while minimising production costs and delivery times. Once the general dimensions and loadings of customers’ requirements are known, the SSL design and detailing team inputs the information into powerful computer programs to produce detailed three dimensional designs that can be viewed from any angle.

These drawings are sent for evaluation to the Customers, their Architects, and their Engineers, who may direct the SSL team to incorporate changes until the design exactly meets requirements. The detailed design files are then downloaded to

powerful CNC controlled machines that cut and punch all the components to very close tolerances.

These components are then shot blasted to remove all surface contamination and immediately primed to prevent flash rusting. The components are then assembled in purpose-made jigs and welded together by certified welders. The welded areas are thoroughly cleaned and primed before a second coat of heavy-duty primer is applied overall. The flawless finished product is then checked and loaded for delivery and assembly using only zinc plated bolts supplied by SSL. To complement these measures, SSL offers a wide choice of primers to ensure long, maintenance free life in various climatic conditions, and will apply finish coats of paint if customers require this step.
